Does clary sage induce labor?

There’s no real evidence to suggest that clary sage works for induction of labour.

The study below showed that in the two groups, the rates of rising and falling oxytocin and cortisol were pretty much the same with the two groups. One inhaling Clary sage, the other with a placebo.

It also showed that showed that smelling clary sage a slight increase in oxytocin but not enough to induce uterine contractions.

The rise in oxytocin was mainly because the participants in the study liked the smell.
