Does placenta calcification mean induction?

Placenta calcification is usually a normal part of the aging of the placenta. There isn’t a proven relationship between calcification and the placenta not working well

However, if the baby seems to be showing signs that the placental function might be creating a risk of harm, induction may not be a good choice as the induction process can put the baby under more stress than a spontaneous labour. Therefore, if it is decided that the baby should be born quickly, you may wish to consider a caesarean as an alternative. If the hospital staff don’t agree with this, then your baby cannot be in such a desperate situation that they need to be born immediately.
